The foundation for most glass art projects including stained glass, mosaics, and fused glass is solid glass cutting skills. With good glass cutting skills, larger and more complex projects can be completed in shorter time. In this workshop you will learn several techniques for cutting glass with a variety glass cutters and the Morton Cutting system. We will demonstrate cutting strips, circles and complex shapes. Also included are speed tips for cutting multiple pieces and clusters, and cutting on a light box.
Clear glass scraps will be provided for practicing the various cutting techniques. Bullseye glass and several patterns will be provided to apply these cutting techniques to create an 8"x8" piece that will be kiln fired at the Bullseye Resource Center in Alameda and picked up at a later date.
There is a $40 materials fee in addition to the tuition
